Community Outreach, Arua
In January 2020, the club travelled to Arua, and conducted two skills sessions on 17th and 19th which attracted 25 young girls and boys between the ages of 9 and 18.
In addition, the team participated in the Hoops of Hope (HOH) 2020 battle shootout tournament that took place at the Emanuel Cathedral basketball court, on January 18th, 2020. It was so much fun having 9-year-old, Crystal the youngest player of the tournament, and 4 others from the skills session feature for the team during the tournament. The team emerged champions, and Melissa Akullu was crowned MVP.
Arua and the greater West Nile region will be future destinations of the club’s grassroots development and outreach project.

Grassroots Development Project, Kibuli
The club launched its official grassroots development project in February 2020. The project will cater for young ladies between the ages of 9 and 18, with three major categories: The U-12 Doves, U-16 Hot Shots, and the U-18 Swans. This will form a pathway to join the senior team.
The development program for the Doves, commenced in Kibuli, Kampala, with 12 young ladies who are being nurtured by qualified Angels coaches and experienced players. The program includes basketball skills development, career guidance, and leadership and life skills training.
The Doves are looking forward to the Big 5 tournament, that was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pre-Season Training Camp, Kamengo
The team held a pre-season training camp in February 2020, at the Agnes Zabali Girls and Boys Club in Kamengo, Mpigi.
The 3-day training camp focused on skills development and team bonding.
Morning workouts in breathtaking views, lovely dinners with the ever friendly and helpful staff of the Agnes Zabali Girls and Boys Club and loads of laughter in the evenings during our get-to-know-you sessions and our epic game of charades.
We did not forget the community! It was a great experience for the senior team as we worked with the young girls and boys, under the guidance of our coaches.

Staff & Player Induction
In March 2020, induction sessions were successfully conducted for staff and players.
The objective of the induction sessions was to welcome the new players and staff, and introduce them to the club’s vision, strategy, and culture.
